Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Dwight's Beach Concession, a cherished culinary haven nestled on the iconic boardwalk of Huntington Beach, California. Situated at 201 Pacific Coast Hwy, one block south of the Huntington Beach Pier, this American restaurant has delighted locals and visitors alike for decades. With a legacy that stretches back to the vivid summers of the late 1960s, Dwight's has become synonymous with beachside nostalgia and mouthwatering comfort food.

One bite of the renowned “Dwight's Famous Strips” and you will understand why this establishment holds a special place in the hearts of many. Available in various delightful styles—Plain, Cheese, Chili, and Chili Cheese, among others—each serving is a testament to the simple yet profound joy of good food. Locals fondly recall the experience of enjoying these strips with their loved ones, often reminiscing about the sweet yet slightly spicy sauce that elevates the dish to new heights of flavor. As customer 'Scott Runnels' passionately shares, these strips are not just food; they are the flavor of cherished teenage memories, tangled with the quintessential beach experience.

But it’s not just the strips that keep the crowds coming back. The old-school-style burgers, cooked to perfection, and the hot, crispy fries drizzled with chili cheese offer a comforting taste of Americana that harks back to summer days filled with laughter and sunshine. As one local, Steve, fondly reminisces, his summer job at Dwight’s wasn't just a job; it was an initiation into a tradition that he continues with each visit. The atmosphere ripe with memories, flavor, and community makes Dwight's a must-visit for any beachgoer.

For those seeking refreshment, Dwight’s offers a charming selection of beverages, from ice-cold sodas to classic root beer floats. As you sip on a drink, the ocean breeze and the sound of waves crashing create a perfect setting to savor your meal. This sensory experience only enhances the dishes, allowing you to indulge in the true essence of beach dining.

Each visit is not only about food; it’s about creating lasting memories. Whether you are a local or a traveler, a stop at Dwight's Beach Concession is a glorious trip down memory lane. As one customer put it, it’s where you can taste the history with a hint of ocean air and a sprinkle of sand. So grab your order, pull up a beach chair, and relish the unmistakable flavors of Dwight's while letting the waves wash over your feet—a delicious ritual that will surely become part of your new memories.

For a taste of authentic beachside fare and a dash of culinary nostalgia, make Dwight's Beach Concession your next destination. You won't just be eating; you'll be partaking in a storied tradition that defines a significant slice of Huntington Beach history.

I spent alot if my teenage years at Huntington Beach in the late 70's and early 80's. I know the chips and cheese are just that. But with that sweet barely spicy sauce it just works. To most might sound crazy but Dwight's was the place that had these. I enjoyed them then and Whenever in the area always get them again. Great teenage memories at Huntington always included these chips !!!

I grew up in Huntington Beach. Dwight's Beach Concession was my first summer job. This was summer 1968. It was a great place to work in the summer. Every summer I make it a habit to go back to Dwight's and have a burger and some soft strips. The burgers are old school style, fresh hot and very tasty. The soft strips are hard to find anywhere else and the hot sauce is perfect. I love this place and will go back each summer and get a burger for as long as I live.

As a teenager my friends & I hung out on the beach. The best memory I have is savoring a container of Strips! They we're so yummy I found the recipe for the sauce, I want to reproduce the recipe for my Son who has heard we talk about them. I'm now over 70 & he's 45.

I’m 50 years old and for at least a year I’ve been craving what I’ve been calling “ Beach snack bar chips and cheese “ . Trying to find recipe. Remebering the sauce being sweet and savory, as a 7 year old girl who spent every summer at the beach with her cousins. Always got the chips with cheese. As I can’t believe I found this I’m going to go crazy because I live an hour away. I need the sauce!!! But here’s the thing.. What makes the chips, cheese unmelted, and sauce work…. Is the little grains of sand that without Fail would always end up on the chips and salsa. That Is what makes it though!!! I think it’s the secret ingredient that never gets used when making, they just know the ocean air and sand is what makes it so amazing!!!$ So I suggest to all get a order go sit by the water in the sand and eat up and if you get a little sand in them it’s all good “ eat it “ I promise it’s what makes it!!!! Now I gotta get he Some!!!!

This is a must if you visit Huntington Beach. All us locals have it.

There really is nothing I love at this place except for one thing. In fact I will tell you that I have tried other things here are they are simply OK. This ONE item here makes it so this place gets a 5 star rating. Its the Strips and Cheese. I can't even tell you why it is so good. Its simply chips, with unmelted shredded cheese, with a side of this slightly sweet tomato based sauce. I know it sounds so strange but this combination just WORKS. And I can't seem to replicate the flavor unless you get it from this place. Its a famous dish that locals all know about. I know you will think I am crazy, but go here for this one item and experience this!

The original....My dad took me to the beach in 1963 and we always had strips w cheese and Dwight's famous sauce. It is still a family favorite! Other food good, too!
